The job

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team. The core focus of this position involves the stripping, inspection and rebuilding of gearboxes, industrial pumps and motors.

  • Component replacement: safely remove and replace bearings, mechanical seals, gaskets, shafts and other internal components
  • Precision assembly: reassemble machinery to strict engineering standards, ensuring correct alignment, tensioning and balancing of all moving parts
  • Testing and quality control: perform functional and pressure testing on completed assemblies prior to dispatch or reinstallation on site

  • Workshop operations: work collaboratively within the team, supporting the workshop manager in running a safe, efficient and productive workshop
  • Health and safety: adhere to all company health and safety protocols, risk assessments and safe systems of work

The ideal candidate would also suit site based work at the sites of our large customer base, generally around the Midlands.
