Fabricator

Due to continued growth and expansion, Varlowe are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our team. We are looking for a time served or experienced Fabricator who is currently working, or has been working, in this role.

This role is not suited to just a Welder. We require a Fabricator who can take a job from design to completion, from fabrication through to a product ready for delivery.

What the job involves:

• Fabricate and weld aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel materials to produce high quality components and assemblies
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Reverse engineer samples to produce components and assemblies
• Manufacture jigs and fixtures to enable batch or complex manufacture
• Weld thin gauge material from a minimum of 0.9mm through to thick gauge
• Use fabrication equipment including guillotine and shear, press brake, fly and vertical press, automated and manual rolls, drills, punch and metal worker, and band saws for rolling and forming
• Ensure all finished products meet the required quality and safety standards
• Maintain a clean and organised work area

Hours are Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 16:00, and Friday 07:00 to 13:00. Full time, permanent.

• Time served or experienced Fabricator, currently or recently working in the role
• Proficient in MIG and TIG welding processes
• Experience with aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel as a minimum requirement
• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations for measurements and layouts
• Able to use measuring equipment
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material properties
• Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
• Able to work to deadlines
• Motivated, proactive, positive, adaptable, organised, analytical and methodical
• Work with finesse to produce high quality components and assemblies
• Good communication skills
• Good timekeeping and attendance record

• Experience with exotic materials such as Hastelloy, Duplex, Inconel and nickel based alloys
• Engineering qualifications, advantageous but not necessary, as time served experience is a must
